James Joseph Parsons was born on March 24, 1973 in Houston, Texas. His parents are Judy Parsons and Milton Parsons. Jim is widely known for playing Dr. Sheldon Cooper on the CBS sitcom, "The Big Bang Theory'', since 2007. Parsons played the Kola-Kola Bird for a school production of "The Elephant's Child." He currently lives in Los Angeles, California. According to the May 2012 issue of "The New York Times", Jim is gay. His boyfriend is Todd Spiewak. Parsons has won two consecutive Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. Jim has also won a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Television Series Musical or Comedy.
